"Gatekeepers of the Arts" in Newport Beach Magazine
In the last few years, the art world has shifted some of its focus from Europe and New York to the West Coast of the United States, as Los Angeles finds itself at the epicenter of cultural conversations. Orange County, too, is burgeoning with creativity; a variety of museums, galleries, theaters and more are adding their voices to the conversations happening on a global scale.
Cultivating such a wide variety of innovative works doesn't come without its challenges, however, and earlier this summer I had the opportunity to speak with curators and gallerists at four leading institutions in Newport Beach about shaping the creative landscape of Southern California. From the Orange County Museum of Contemporary Art to Segerstrom Center for the Arts, my conversations with them appeared in the August/September issue of Newport Beach Magazine.
